Community
St Giles with St Matthew has a long history of welcoming people of all ages and seeking to accommodate their needs.
On the first Sunday of each month the main act of worship at 10am takes the form of All Age Worship. The format for this couldn't be more simple - a themed Service of the Word (no communion) with two short readings, four hymns (two modern, two traditional), brief Prayers of Penitence, brief Prayers of Intercession, an interactive all-age address, all done and dusted in about 40 minutes!
Over the last five years this service has grown in popularity and the congregation often includes families with small children, uniformed organisations and some more elderly folk who would struggle to sit through a full-length act of worship.
In addition to All Age Worship, St Giles with St Matthew provides a "Children's area" with soft toys, books and colouring materials for younger children to explore.
